I used to think July was supposed to be the happiest month of summer. Long sunny days, warm evenings, spontaneous walks, and that feeling that life slows down just enough for us to enjoy every moment. But this year, it feels like the rain has completely taken over. Almost every morning I wake up hoping to see blue skies, yet all I find are gray clouds and the sound of raindrops against my window.
I had so many little plans for this month. I wanted to spend more time outside, wear my favorite summer dresses, watch sunsets, and enjoy coffee on open terraces. Instead, I keep carrying an umbrella everywhere. It almost feels like July forgot that it was supposed to be summer.
Still, after a while, I realized that maybe there is something beautiful about this rainy month too. The rain gives me a reason to stay home with a good book, make tea, light a candle, and simply slow down. Sometimes we are so busy chasing perfect sunny days that we forget how peaceful quiet moments can be.
Rain also reminds me that not everything in life goes according to our plans. We cannot control the weather, just like we cannot control many other things. The only thing we can choose is our attitude. If we keep waiting for perfect conditions to be happy, we might miss many wonderful moments that are already happening around us.
